Looking for Bahamas Beachfront Real Estate?

If you could choose to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, the Bahamas should be high on your list. Just thinking of the Bahamas brings to mind white-sand beaches, swaying palm trees and crystal clear blue waters. You can actually own this beachfront real estate dream.

Since the Bahamas islands are so popular, you might think that all Bahamas real estate is sold by now, but with more than 700 islands and 2,500 inlets, there are beautiful spots still available.

Bahamas Beachfront Real EstateNew Tax Incentives for Purchasers and Investors
The government of the Bahamas islands is trying to attract buyers and encourage investors by extending tax incentives. Under new legislation, the International Persons Landholding Act grants routine approval to non-residents who wish to purchase residential property. The law also includes a two-year property tax exemption for purchasers of land for development purposes.

In order to revitalize the downtown district, Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham has incorporated five-year tax concessions on residential properties in the city. The hopes are to entice more people to live in an urban neighborhood. This will bring additional business to the restaurants, shops and bars. It is a great investment opportunity for non residents looking for a spot in the tropics.

Golden Opportunities
There are choice pieces of Bahamas real estate still available, and many sections of the islands are still obtainable for development. Here are some of the nicest places to own:

  • Nassau Townhouses – Rustic Victorian-style townhouses are available, complete comfort that includes a swimming pool.
  • Sandyport Gated Community – Located in Nassau, this community is conveniently close to stores, hotels and casinos. It is made up of 500 homes, many with beachfront real estate.
  • Freeport – Just a few miles from the shops of Port Lucaya, houses can be purchased for roughly half their worth. Some homes with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with a usual list price of 1.5 million, are selling for approximately $625,000.
  • Berry Islands – A posh, well-to-do part of the Bahamas, where golf courses are beautiful, and real estate may be hard to find. One particular house, boasting a double beachfront lot, is currently listed at $790,000.
  • North Eleuthera – This is a wealthy, secluded retreat for those who enjoy privacy. Your next door neighbour could be David Copperfield.

If you are thinking of investing in Bahamas real estate, other places worthwhile considering are Abaco Cays and Exuma. Both have spectacular beach front properties - big value for your money.
